A full day of training, including one hour in the airplane.
We cover the applicable §61.55 SIC qualification requirements: aircraft systems and procedures, performance and limitations, the flight manual, required takeoffs and landings, engine-out procedures, and crew resource management.
You learn how to work with your captain, manage your responsibilities, and contribute to an organized cockpit. Eligibility, required proficiency, and documentation are reviewed for your training path.

Applicant eligibility, documentation, aircraft access and operating costs, the number of trainees covered, and any additional training.
Train first. Then put it to work.
If I have an upcoming trip available, we may be able to time your training so you can join me afterward as the copilot. You complete the course first. Then, once the applicable crew qualifications and operator requirements are met, you can put those skills to work on a real trip.
This is an optional, unpaid copilot opportunity. You contribute your copilot services in exchange for the experience. There is no charge for joining the trip. The trip and the $5,000 training course are separate.
Trips depend on availability, the aircraft, the operation and your qualifications. Dates, destinations and flight hours vary. We agree on the details beforehand. A trip is not guaranteed, and sitting in the right seat does not automatically make the time loggable. We review what you may log under §61.51 for the actual operation.
